Rename Master

Well it's time to talk about various programs that I've found, sometimes through need, on the net.

Today I'm going to mention a freeware program called Rename Master. The need for such a program arrived when being the anime freak I am and watching stuff before i buy my mass quanities of dvds, I soon realized that renaming all my files so they stay in alphabetical order for eps and such became so very bothersome. It's rather tedious when you find a series that has well over 200 episodes and people have changed their methods of numbering. Also you find filenames like [groupname]series.codec.quality[crc].filetype sorta names >_<. After much searching and trying out different programs I stopped at Rename Master.

Miku . .sing for me?

Well it's been a while since I've written anything. Lately I've been getting a lil into a program called Vocaloid 2 which is a speech synth you can use to create an artifical singing voice for your music. Vocaloid 1 didn't seem to hit off all that good cause it was pretty robotic sounding then but with this new engine they are using they seem to have made it alot more realistic and they also created a very cute mascot character the voice is suppose to represet that it's gained alot of popularity. Hatsune Miku is the 16 year old mascot character.

I'm a bit late in updating this but I was working on a small animation of this image that my friend topzter created. He's a Len fan and since he had been watching too much Lucky Star he sorta used the same style on Len.

http://e-shuushuu.net/image.php?mode=view&image_id=63507

topzter took the time to sketch in more of the drawing. He also sent me his vector'd psd file where I Had to make quite a few adjustments to seperate the vector paths into seperate parts and fix problems with the image. Then I encountered a new problem. Transferring the paths to Flash 8. Since he created vector paths and not shapes it proved to be difficult. After many problems .. attempts .. failure .. I ended up searching for programs to take the stroked paths after raster and recreate them. I ended up finding this small command line vector tool called Autotrace.

New Rainmeter Tutorials

I've begun working on adding more Rainmeter tutorials. Rainy's old forums appear to be gone so there isn't much information anymore to search around for. Still I prefer people understand how to create rainmeters from scratch so that they don't clog up their skins with code that isn't needed. I've added some mirror links I've google'd for those who are interested in downloading Rainmeter. Download at your own risk as I don't support any mirrors.

Computer woes and rememberance but lighten up one piece

Well after being out of action for a while and not being able to lift and drive very well, due to my surgery on the sinus problems with my nose, I am finally able to head out of town again to visit my friend and his family. Which means I was finally able to lift up my old amd k5-3 450 system so that he could take a look at it to see if there might be something we can do to fix it. For a while it started just shutting down on it's own. After some more time it just started up and when it began to load windows it's just reboot or shutoff. After checking it later it finally just didn't display any video and the pc didn't beep on starting. There was just the sound of of the hard drives turning softly with power and the fan. There wasn't much to be really done since he's not a total hardware guru. Started it up and saw the cpu fan start to turn then cut out and then start up again and finally just stop. I guess that's no good >_> maybe I just fried something . .maybe I need a new motherboard >_>. well since we don't have any spare parts to test things on it's sorta maybe a lost cause. considering I could buy another system for about $129 when the deal comes around that will for sure be better than this system. Guess I need to yank the hard drives out of this one and figure out what to do next.

. . . of flowerview

Well, While trying to get the site colors and such looking different than the default theme I was a bit bored and taking a break for a while. A while back I've gotten ahold of some Touhou curtain shooter games and was really impressed by them. They are made by Team Shanghai Alice and are quite a bit different than shooters I've played since when I was a kid here in the states. You can visit the Touhou Wikifor more info on gameplay and history of the series.

For the longest while though I've been wanting to play a descent topdown style shooter with netplay. I hadn't found anything good so I was a bit upset and then I learned from a friend about a patch for one of the Touhou games called Phantasmagoria of Flower View. This game is already a sorta Vs. style game where the screen is split in half and you fly on your side of the screen taking out enemies as best as you can trying to outlast the other side. By destroying chains and some enemies in a certain way you can send over attacks against your Opponet. There is a big cast of characters from the Touhou series of games and each has a different type of firing attack, charge attack, and punishing opponet special. The problem though was that I was having a had time finding someone to multiplay to. I failed in connection with a friend and I believe it was his port being blocked. Last night I was finally able to connect to a friend and it was awesome ^^. So for some shots though they aren't very interesting since it's hard to print screen in the midst of battle XD
